Unlike earthly homes, your home in heaven:

  • is free

  • is paid for (no mortgage payments)

  • is located in the best neighborhood

  • has no utility bills

  • the pipes never freeze

  • the garden never needs tending to

  • needs no updating and remodeling

... the list goes on and on …

And best of all it is for eternity.

In order to secure the deeds to our heavenly homes, we are required to obey the commandments of God;

Acknowledgement

Jesus Christ is the Savior of all mankind. “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.”

Acts 4:12

“Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of the Father.”

Philippians 2:8-10

“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the son of God so that you may know you have eternal life.”

1 John 5:13

Repentance

“I tell you, no but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.”

Luke 13:3,5

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

1 John 1:9

Peter said to them: “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit .”

Acts 2:38

“Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone – an image made by man’s design and skill. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.”

Acts 17:29,30

Obedience

Jesus’ example of obedience. “But the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me.”

John 14:31

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.”

John 15:9

“Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”

Luke 11:28

“If you love me, you will obey what I command.”

John 14:15

WHAT WAS TAUGHT?

“When the people heard this,” On the Day of Pentecost when Peter preached, “the Jewish religious leaders rejected Jesus’ claim that he was the promised Messiah, the “Son of God.” The leaders hate and rejection grew compelling them to demand Jesus be crucified. They incited other Jews to join them in their demands and Jesus was crucified. “After he was crucified and placed in a grave, God raised Him from the grave proving him to be the Son of God.”

Acts 2:22-35

Hearing the message and understanding Jesus was the Prophesied Messiah, the “Son of God,” “They were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, Brothers, what shall we do?”

Acts 2:37

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” “ The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off - for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

Acts 2:38-39

HOW WAS THE TEACHING OBEYED?

“Those who accepted his message were baptized (obeyed), and about three thousand were added to their number that day.”

Acts 2:41

Paul wrote he received the same revelation from the Lord and preached it as of first importance. 1 Corinthians 15:1-9. Additionally, he obeyed the message in baptism. “Don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”

Romans 6:1-14

WHAT HAPPENED TO THOSE WHO OBEYED?

“Praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.  And the Lord added to their number (from the Greek word ekklesia meaning the called out or the church) daily those who were being saved.”

Acts 2:47

Paul called the church, “God’s household which is the church of the living God.”

 1 Timothy 3:15
